Thanks to Paul Eggert for two more fixes.
FYI, I've also just updated to the latest gnulib,
since there have been nontrivial improvements since
the last snapshot.

I'm hoping this is the final snapshot and that I will
be able to make a release soon. Please test and report
back to the mailing list.
